Spellbinders August 2024 Club Kits; Clear Stamp & Die, 3-D Embossing & Wax Seal
Hello, Friends! The Spellbinders August 2024 Club Kits are really lovely! I was able to play with the Bold Hello Wax Seal of the Month, The 3-D Embossing Folder of the Month and the lovely Colorful Expressions Blossom Clear Stamp and Die of the Month. The floral theme lead me to work with a pink color palette, which is always fun. I thought you might like to see the results of a happy afternoon in my studio.
Shades of Pink
Do you ever experiment with new stamping techniques? Stamping is not my strong suit, but I have been working on improving my skills. Here’s how I created the stamped focal image on this 5″ x 7 card.
- First, stamp the Colorful Expressions Blossom on Neenah White Solar Cardstock using Jet Black Archival Ink.
- Next, quickly sprinkle the stamped image with clear embossing powder and heat emboss. Because I am not the best colorist in town, I like the way the slightly raised ridges of the embossed image help me to stay inside the lines.
- Now, color the image with your favorite medium (I used colored pencils this time) .
- Then die cut the image using the matching die.
- Adhere small Spellbinders Rose Pearls around the outside of the stamped image. Back with 1/8″ foam tape and adhere to a 4″ x 6″ panel that you’ve embossed with the 3-D embossing folder.
- Stamp “my friend” and mat on pink glitter cardstock.
- Then create the wax seal with the Bold Hello Wax Seal of the Month Club.
- TIP: Mat the layers on dark green cardstock and back with foam tape to create dimension.
A Peek Inside
Finish up the inside of the card with panels of Simple Stories Spring Garden Papers. Journal cards are a fun addition to a little flap pocket.
You can add a photo to the large space behind the flap.
Dress up the pocket with a stamped and die cut sentiment from the Clear Stamp and Die of the Month. Mat this on another scrap of pink glitter cardstock. Then fill the pocket with a little tea bag, honey stick and another journal card.

Kathy, this is such a beautiful card! I love the pinks. The focal image makes me think of a stained glass window. I think your stamping and coloring techniques are awesome! One would never know those aren’t your strong suits. Thank you for sharing! Hugs!
