Pumpkin Patch Scarecrow Card Folio for the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop
Hello, Friends! This Pumpkin Patch Scarecrow Card Folio is my inspiration piece for the Really Reasonable Ribbon September Blog Hop. Welcome to the hop! You should be coming here from Gloria’s lovely blog.
I dressed my card up with Brown Glitz Ribbon, Pumpkin Baker’s Twine, Mixed Earth Tone Mulberry Flowers and burlap string, all from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Shop. Then I invited some Reneabouquets Layered Pumpkins and Beautiful Board Scarecrow to the party. So fun! (You can find a linked supply list below this post.)
Ribbon Borders and String Bows
Ribbon is such a versatile crafting supply! You can tie it into bows, of course, but you can also use it to create borders that help draw the eye to design elements on a card. This Brown Glitz Ribbon Border helps make the laser cut title pop off the page. The easy way to attach a ribbon border to a card is with Scor-Tape. Don’t you just love it when a simple trick like this one elevates a card design?
And not all bows have to be tied with ribbon! Burlap string and Baker’s Twine are perfect selections for fall bows. They add texture, color and are very easy to make. Here’s how I make these twine bows,
- First, cut even lengths of Pumpkin Baker’s Twine and Olive and Natural Burlap String. About 18″ is a good length for a 3″ bow.
- Next, gather the strings together and make sure they are laying smooth and straight.
- Now, set the posts on your Bow-it-All Tool for 3″ bows and tie as usual.
Easy, right?
A Peek Inside
Dress up the inside of your card with more pretty fall papers. And don’t forget to add a pocket!
If you make a pocket, you have to put something in it, right? How about a cute little gift wallet with room for a tea bag, honey crystals and flower seeds inside? That ought to do the trick!
