How to Fix a Cardmaking Blooper

How to Fix a Cardmaking Blooper: Wonderful Wednesday Birthday Card of the Month with G45 Autumn Greetings

Hello, Friends!  Have you ever wondered how to fix a cardmaking blooper?  While making this Graphic 45 Autumn Greetings Tea Party in a Box  project, I made a major mistake.  This Wonderful Wednesday Birthday Card of the Month project nearly ended up as a train wreck! But after a few deep breaths, and perhaps a few muttered imprecations, I figured out how to pull it out of the fire.  And it worked so well that I decided to keep the mistake in the video and share the “fix” with all my friends.  Phew!  That was a close one!

Graphic 45 Autumn Greetings Cutaway Tea party in a Box

You’d never guess that this pretty 7″ x 5″  cutaway card came so close to the edge of disaster, would you?  Loaded with layers of designer paper, chipboard and ephemera, it looks as prim and proper as an autumn birthday card should.

TIP:  Back a chipboard frame with a scrap of designer paper.  Then place dimensionals on the back of a pretty ephemera piece and layer it over the frame.  This is a super easy way to create a card focal!

A Peek Inside

Birthday cards should be special, don’t you agree?  So I created a little Tea Party in a Box and a mini kinetic waterfall feature inside this folio.

TIP: Create a pretty contrasting border for your cutaway card.  Then center a chipboard tag to draw attention to the detail.

Tuck a tea wallet/notecard, Biscoff cookies and a special vintage demitasse spoon into the box pocket.  (You’ll learn how to create the box pocket in the video tutorial.)

Add journal cards from the 8×8 paper pad to the tea wallet to create plenty of room to write your own personal greeting to the card.

Ohhh yeahhh, how to fix an oh no moment, done with expertise! It took a minute for me to realise that you were doing portrait rather than landscape, ugh! The folio itself is such a treat of colours, layers and surprises. Thanks for sharing the recovery Kathy, the heat tool is always handy, he he…..

I enjoyed your video! Very helpful! Great way to save a card disaster! Can ask you about that cool white glue dispenser? Is this a new gadget? I think I have to have this! Lol…great card as always!

Thanks for showing how you fixed the blooper! I had never thought of heating the glue to soften it. The card is beautiful! The Autumn Greetings paper collection is so wonderful that I hope you can squeeze in one more project!
