Country Bunny Tea Party in a Box Card

Country Bunny Tea Party in a Box Card

Hello, Friends!  I made this adorable Country Bunny Tea Party in a Box Card when I had a little “free time” play in the studio yesterday.  This is the collection I used  Country Bunny Box and the Flower Basket Easel Card last month.  It’s been quite a gloomy, chilly week here in North Carolina so I  needed to make a little sunshine in the studio.  Nothing chases away the blues like a little time spent with pretty papers, posies and glue!

How much do we love this cheeky little bunny with her spring straw hat?  Fussy cut from a scrap of designer paper, she’s the perfect focal image on this 7 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ box style card.  (If you don’t know how to make a box pocket, you can learn how in THIS video tutorial.)

Building Layers

Y’all know how much I love layers.  Here are some of the steps I followed in building the layers on this card.

  • First, cut a 7 1/4″ x 12″ panel of beige cardstock for the card base.
  • Now place the long side on the rail of your scoring tool.  Score at 5 1/4″, 5 3/4″, and 11″.  Fold the scored lines to create the card base.
  • Next, score a 9 1/4″ x 3″ panel of cardstock on the long side at 1/2″ 1″, 8 1/4″ .  Build a box pocket following the video steps in the tutorial linked above.
  • Cut a 7 1/8″ x 5 1/8″ panel of sage green cardstock, a 7″ x 5″ panel of cream cardstock and a 6 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ panel of kraft cardstock.  These will be the mat layers on the card front.
  • Now stitch a 6 5/8″ x 4 5/8″ panel of designer paper to the kraft cardstock panel. Center and adhere this panel over the cream and sage green cardstock and adhere to the card cover.
  • Fussy cut a large floral image from your scraps.  Then cut 2 banner flags from scraps.
  • Mat a 3″ x 3″ square of the leafy patterned paper over a slightly larger panel of sage cardstock.  Adhere the fussy cut flower and banner flags behind the left hand side and glue in place.
  • Now fussy cut a bunny and some butterflies.
  • Finally, adhere the bunny in the center of a large fabric flower and adhere to the 3″ x 3″ panel.

Finish up with ribbons, flowers and a button.

A Peek Inside

Here’s a peek at the inside of the finished card.

Fussy cut the cute dress from patterned paper.  Add just a smidge of dimension by backing it with scraps of kraft cardstock.  This makes it stand out from the patterned background paper but does not interfere with the card’s ability to close.

Do you see the little pocket I added to the dress?  Cut this from a scrap of paper, then glue a fussy cut bunny to the back side.  Add foam dots or dimensionals to the back of the pocket and adhere to the skirt.  This might be my favorite feature on this entire card.  What can I say?  I love pockets?

The Tea Party in a Box

Here’s a peek at all the little treats I’ve tucked inside the box pocket.  A darling vintage silver plate demitasse spoon steals the show, in my opinion.  I also created a little 3″ x 4″ note card from scraps of cardstock and designer paper.

TIP:  Make the tea party feel extra special!  Gift wrap your cookie, honey pouch, chocolate and tea bag with scraps of designer paper.  It only takes a few extra minutes.  Plus it uses up small scraps in a creative way.

You can still purchase this adorable collection from Country Craft Creations.  Click HERE to find the 12×12 Bristol  paper pad and coordinating cardstock.

I hope you feel inspired to break out some of your papers, ribbons and trims and make something beautiful this Sunday afternoon!

Country Bunny Flower Basket Easel Card

Country Bunny Flower Basket Easel Card for Country Craft Creations

Hello, Friends!  I’m back today to share this Country Bunny Flower Basket Easel Card.  Yesterday, I shared my cute Country Bunny Boxed Mini Album set with you. But today I wanted to showcase the gorgeous florals in the Country Bunny paper collection.

Start with a 6″ x 6″  kraft cardstock easel card base.  Then add some height with a 5″ x 7″ decorative panel on the front of the card.  Next, alter a Reneabouquets April in Paris Doily Set 2 with embossing powders.  Fussy cut the flower basket from the paper collection, back with foam tape and adhere to the doily.  Now just add in some flowers, buttons and embellishments to finish the design.  I also spattered sepia paint on the card to add that “painterly” artistic touch.

The satin trim adds wonderful texture and shine to the card design.  And Little Birdie Flowers are the perfect finishing touch.  It comes in the Country Bunny Kit along with the Seam Binding Ribbon that I used in the bow.

A Peek Inside

Do you finish the insides of your cards?  I love to cover the interior panels with more designer paper.  The pocket on the bottom serves as the stopper or break for the easel mechanism.  It’s a great place to tuck in a note card and a tea bag wallet.  The smaller pocket on the top is just the right size for a miniature Lindt chocolate treat.

I think this collection is sooo beautiful!  I have a few more pieces left, and I can’t wait to play with it again.

You’ll find a linked supply list below this post.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Country Bunny Boxed Mini Album Set and Country Bunny Collection Reveal

Hello, Friends!  I’ve been counting down the days until I could share this Country Bunny Boxed Mini Album Set with you.  It represents a dream come true, and there’s nothing I love more than seeing a dream come true!  My sweet friend Tamra over at Country Craft Creations unveiled her new Country Bunny paper collection yesterday in a Facebook Live event.  Tamra asked me to create a sample project for yesterday’s release party on Facebook.  And today I get to share it with you all here.

You’ll get to see this delicious paper collection and all the details of this project in the video below.   I altered a Graphic 45 Ivory Book Box, then filled it up with 3 handmade bitty mini albums.

The back side of the book box houses a box style pocket with a little flip folio tucked inside.  Before we look at the video, I’ll just share some little peeks at each of the individual components.

Country Bunnies and Butterflies

Each hardcover mini album measures 3 3/4″ x 5 3/4″ x 1 1/2″.  The trims, designer papers, cardstock papers, flowers and crystals are all part of the kit Tamra is selling in her online tore, Country Craft Creations.   I added just a couple of pretties, like this resin bunny and some metal embellishments  from my stash .

Each mini album has a theme and a  unique design.  This one is Bunnies and Butterflies.

Wait til you see what is inside!  This collection is sooo charming!

Country Bunny

I call this second mini album Country Bunny.  Look how sweet the face is on this handsome bunny rabbit!

The soft colors of this collection are so warm and inviting!

You will find lots and lots of sweet bunnies inside these double pull out pages!

Bunnies and Bonnets

Do you see the gorgeous lace trim that comes in the kit?  It adds so much lovely texture to the design!

This album has a wrap around spine and one of my precious vintage buttons.

And I’ve added some surprise elements inside the pages, too!

Spring Fling Fold Out Folio

I am over the moon for the images in this paper collection!  Look at this adorable little outfit!  This flip folio measures 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ with a 1/2″ spine.

You’ll find tags, mini folios and pockets tucked inside.

To see all of the elements, you’ll have to watch the video project share below.

I’m extremely honored to be part of Tamra’s release party!  She’s such a good person, and so generous with the crafting community.  If you’re not familiar with you, you can find her on Facebook.  Her shop is loaded with lots and lots of paper pretties, too!  You can find out more about Country Bunny HERE.

I’ll be back tomorrow to share a card that I made with this lovely collection.
