Stamperia Hidden Grove Jumbo Tag Folio Tutorial for Wonderful Wednesday
Hello, Friends! I hope you ready for some mixed media fun, because this Stamperia Hidden Grove Jumbo Tag Folio Tutorial is loaded with great texture and techniques. Welcome to the first Wonderful Wednesday tutorial for June 2025. We’ll be working with these whimsical papers all month long, and I can hardly wait to share all my ideas with you.
The first Wednesday is always set aside for the Tag of the Month. Today, I’m going to show you how to create your own jumbo tag base with corrugate cardboard, paint and paper. It’s going to be a messy good time!
Lots of Layers!
Layers and layers of paint, paper, found objects and images make this tag super dimensional. At first glance, you might feel as though this is too challenging for you. Please don’t! What’s that old saying, “Yard by yard life is hard, but inch by inch it’s a cinch!”? Creating this woodland wonderland is a lot easier than you might think. We build it one layer at a time, and it’s loads of fun!
Found Objects
My inspiration for this whole piece is the slab of wood that this little snail has turned into his home. I found it while looking through a forgotten drawer, and knew immediately that I wanted to use it in this project.
TIP: Keep an eye out for found objects any time you are out walking, and especially if you are in a park. A lichen covered branch can add texture, interest and dimension to a landscape piece. I’m always picking up odd things that catch my eye. Keep them in a sealed plastic box, and don’t forget to look at them every once in a while.
The Tag Folio
The back side of this 6″ x 9″ tag features a sweet little 6′ x 6 3/4″ interactive folio. It’s filled with hidden pockets, flips, flaps, and lots of beautiful images.
A while ago I shared a project with a staggered kinetic waterfall and promised to show you how to do it some day. Well, this is the day.
The video tutorial focuses mostly on creating the landscape scene and the basic mechanics of the folio. You can use the photos at the end of the video for inspiration when it comes time to dress up your version.
