Baby Easter Bunny Shaker Card

Authentique Best of Springtime Reneabouquets Beautiful Board Easter Bunny Kathy Clement Shaker Card Photo 01

Baby Easter Bunny Shaker Card

Hello, Friends!  Hippety Hoppity here comes a Baby Easter Bunny Shaker Card to add a bit of sunshine to your day.  This color palette reminds me of the beautiful azalea bushes that bloom here in the South.   They come in all colors, and when they burst into bloom, it’s as though even  Earth has dressed up in her Easter finery to celebrate the Risen Lord!

And how cute is this wee Easter Bunny from Reneabouquets?  I’ve paired it up with the delicate Heart Deco Beautiful Board Frame.  It’s very easy to convert the frame into a shaker box element with these simple steps:

  • First, heat emboss the frame with Versamark Ink and WOW! Singing in the Rain Embossing Powder.
  • Next, die cut a clear cardstock insert with Spellbinders Large Standard Circle Die.  Adhere this to the back side of the frame with Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive.
  • While you are die cutting, die cut a circle of the bunny patterned paper using the same circle die.
  • Now add a triple layer of 1/8″ foam strips over the cardstock insert.  I like to use a tripe layer of foam so that I can add buttons and pearls to my shaker mix.  But it you are using just sequins, a single layer will do.
  • Then fill the cavity of the shaker box with your shaker mix. Seal it with the die cut circle of bunny paper.
  • Adhere the Baby Easter Bunny to the frame with more foam dimensionals.  Don’t forget to add some to the back side of the bunny to fill in the gap between it and the card base.
Finishing Touches

Create a ribbon border using trims from the Really Reasonable Ribbon March Ribbon Club Collection.  I chose to work with the Hot Pink Delicate Stitched Satin and the Spring Leaf Satin Ribbon.

Tie a triple loop bow with the Hot Pink Delicate Stitched Satin, then top it with a cluster of Pink Chrysanthemums and Sweetheart blossoms.  And every Easter Bunny needs a floral bow-tie, don’t you agree?

A Peek Inside

Here’s a peek inside this sweet little vintage style card.  More pretty papers and a pocket full of treats finish it off perfectly!

Spring is really starting to pop here in North Carolina.  I am spying hyacinths, daffodils, and cherry blossoms in full bloom.  Bradford Pears and Flowering Plums are ready to burst any day.  It’s such a treat to see the earth awaken from it’s winter nap!  I hope you are starting to see a few signs of spring wherever you are!

These pretty pastel ribbons matched my project perfectly.  Perky Pearl Pink Checkerboard Satin Bows add just the right amount of texture and shine to the folio cover.

Create a border with Lemon Diamond Satin and Mixed Pastel Vertical Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

Even though this folio is tiny, it is loaded with flips, flaps and surprises.  Pop up elements are always fun to discover!

And it just wouldn’t be Easter without the Easter Bunny and a bit of chocolate!

Happy Spring Mason Jar Shaker Card

Hello, Friends!  Spring is peeping around the corner here in North Carolina, so I thought I’d share this Happy Spring Mason Jar Shaker Card.   The Really Reasonable Ribbon Hot Pink Delicate Stitched Satin Bows make me think of the azaleas that will soon burst into bloom.  I’ve paired it up with  other ribbons in the March 2021 Ribbon Club Assortment.  Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Rows of Ribbon

This 5 1/2″ square card gets an extra dose of texture, pattern and color from the ribbon border.  Simply layer Lemon Diamond Satin Ribbon with the Butterfly Print Grosgrain Ribbon.  Use Scor-Tape to affix the ribbons to the card base, and to one another.

TIP: Cut the ribbon width a little longer than the card panel.  This way, you can wrap the loose ends around the back of the panel, leaving a neat and tidy edge.  It also prevents ribbon from fraying.

Delightful Details

  • Machine stitching adds a finished border to the card base.
  • Separate layers with yellow cardstock mats.
  • Learn how to make the shaker element HERE.
A Peek Inside

Dress up the inside of your card with a little pocket.  Everyone needs a little treat, right?  So tuck in a teabag, chocolate and honey stick.  Now the card is a gift that anyone would love to receive.

Country Bunny Boxed Mini Album Set

Country Bunny Boxed Mini Album Set and Country Bunny Collection Reveal

Hello, Friends!  I’ve been counting down the days until I could share this Country Bunny Boxed Mini Album Set with you.  It represents a dream come true, and there’s nothing I love more than seeing a dream come true!  My sweet friend Tamra over at Country Craft Creations unveiled her new Country Bunny paper collection yesterday in a Facebook Live event.  Tamra asked me to create a sample project for yesterday’s release party on Facebook.  And today I get to share it with you all here.

You’ll get to see this delicious paper collection and all the details of this project in the video below.   I altered a Graphic 45 Ivory Book Box, then filled it up with 3 handmade bitty mini albums.

The back side of the book box houses a box style pocket with a little flip folio tucked inside.  Before we look at the video, I’ll just share some little peeks at each of the individual components.

Country Bunnies and Butterflies

Each hardcover mini album measures 3 3/4″ x 5 3/4″ x 1 1/2″.  The trims, designer papers, cardstock papers, flowers and crystals are all part of the kit Tamra is selling in her online tore, Country Craft Creations.   I added just a couple of pretties, like this resin bunny and some metal embellishments  from my stash .

Each mini album has a theme and a  unique design.  This one is Bunnies and Butterflies.

Wait til you see what is inside!  This collection is sooo charming!

Country Bunny

I call this second mini album Country Bunny.  Look how sweet the face is on this handsome bunny rabbit!

The soft colors of this collection are so warm and inviting!

You will find lots and lots of sweet bunnies inside these double pull out pages!

Bunnies and Bonnets

Do you see the gorgeous lace trim that comes in the kit?  It adds so much lovely texture to the design!

This album has a wrap around spine and one of my precious vintage buttons.

And I’ve added some surprise elements inside the pages, too!

Spring Fling Fold Out Folio

I am over the moon for the images in this paper collection!  Look at this adorable little outfit!  This flip folio measures 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ with a 1/2″ spine.

You’ll find tags, mini folios and pockets tucked inside.

To see all of the elements, you’ll have to watch the video project share below.

I’m extremely honored to be part of Tamra’s release party!  She’s such a good person, and so generous with the crafting community.  If you’re not familiar with you, you can find her on Facebook.  Her shop is loaded with lots and lots of paper pretties, too!  You can find out more about Country Bunny HERE.

I’ll be back tomorrow to share a card that I made with this lovely collection.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spellbinders Make a Scene Shaker Card

Spellbinders Make a Scene Collection Becca Feeken Reneabouquets Shaker Card by Kathy Clement Photo 01

Spellbinders Make a Scene Shaker Card

Hello, Friends!  Need a little promise of spring? I’m hoping this Spellbinders  Make a Scene Shaker Card will feel like sunshine and blues skies on this chilly February day!  What a treat to work with this amazing new set of dies from the one and only Becca Feeken (Amazing Paper Grace)!   Nothing warms up a wintry afternoon like making a shaker card filled with peeps and wee chicks in an old shoe!

Make a Scene Collection

If you haven’t had a chance to check out the Make a Scene Collection, you might just want to take a peep.  (See what I did there?  I apologize!)  This huge collection can be used in all kinds of ways.  The shaker frame is made with the Scallop Façade Frame Etched Die Set.  If you are a shaker card maker, you will love this die!  Here’s how I put this shaker frame together.

  • First, create a 7″ x 5″ top fold card base.
  • Next, arrange the outer scallop frame, inside filigree frame insert and the smallest rectangle frame together over patterned paper.  TIP: Use a bit of washi tape or Post-it Tape to hold the dies in place.  Then die cut.
  • Now cut a piece of clear cardstock (acetate) to fit the back of the frame.  Adhere this with Dries Clear Adhesive.
  • Then layer 3 rows of 1/8″ foam strips around the wider frame border.
  • Next, place the Easter Chic sequin mix on the background panel. Be generous:  this is a big frame!
  • Now carefully line up the acetate frame over the background layer.  When you are sure it is straight, press in place.

See?  That was easy, right?

Grand Cinch and Go Flowers

Use the Make a Scene Grand Cinch and Go Flowers Dies to die cut flower layers from your paper scraps.  Using patterned paper to cut out flower layers is a huge time saver.  Plus, you end up with perfectly color matched flowers on your card.

And can we just talk about the ribbon for a minute?  This cheery mix of ribbons is from the Really Reasonable Ribbon February Ribbon Club Assortment.  They could not have been a more perfect match for this card!

Little Peeps

And I just have to mention these adorable little chicks in a shoe.  Once again, Reneabouquets Printed Beautiful Board is a perfect fit.

Sometimes, you really do get what you ask for!

Ok…this is super exciting!  I’ve been asking the fine folks at Authentique paper to re-release some of their fabulous older collections in a “Best of” collection pad.  And guess what?  They did it!  This “Best of Springtime” paper collection kit is now available for purchase online.  Friends, I am over the moon at this new development.  (You can also find “Best of Beloved” for Valentine’s Day, too!)

A Peek Inside

Here’s a peek at the inside of this sweet little card.  Bunnies and posies and plaids and checks.  Oh, yes please!  There’s a Lemon Lift tea bag tucked into the tea wallet, too.

So that’s it for me friends!  I hope I’ve added a bit of sunshine to this wintry day.  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.
