Sweet and fresh as a spring day, this card is also quick and easy to put together.

  • Create a 5″ x 7″ top fold card base from Whip Cream Cardstock.
  • Mat a 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ panel of the green check paper on a slightly larger layer of pink cardstock.  Then mat a second time on olive green cardstock.
  • Then stitch the layers together on your sewing machine.  Throw in a few zig-zag stitches just for the fun of it!
  • Next, cut a 4″ x 6″ panel of the green leaf pattern.  Stitch this onto a slightly larger layer of the green cardstock.

  • Fussy cut around the white line on the sentiment panel.  This little detail makes all the difference in the world.

  • Place foam tape or waste chipboard behind the sentiment panel and adhere to the card.  This simple step adds loads of dimension.
  • Now, from the sticker sheet, find “Fresh Flowers”, the pink rain boots and the “Beautiful Day” circular sentiment. Add these to the card as seen in the photo.
  • Adhere a cluster of flowers along the left hand side of the sentiment.
  • Tuck in a bow tied with Pink Plaid Ribbon.
  • Place a mini binder clip on the right hand side of the sentiment panel.  Tie a bit of pink burlap string around the post.

Create a little sentiment panel from a scrap of the pink cardstock.  Punch two holes through the left hand side.  Then run a bit of ribbon through the holes and tie a vintage silver spoon in place.

For the pocket on the bottom, create a little treat wallet.  Tuck in a tea bag, chocolate and honey stick.  Now you’ve got a unique and lovely birthday gift.

Easter Bunny Hideaway House Rescued from The Closet of Shame

Some time ago, I purchased this house shaped shadow box, thinking I would use it to  make some Christmas gifts.  Then life got busy, and the poor house lay forgotten in the Closet of Shame.

Somehow, I think it was meant to be.  While doing a little springtime tidy up, I ran across the house and knew immediately that it was destined to become this little Easter Bunny Hideaway House.

Easter Bunny Hideaway House: Tips and Tricks

Here’s  how I created this dimensional focal image.

  • First, fussy cut around the 4″ x 6″ card front from Abundant 6.
  • Leave an extra 1/2″ border on the bottom edge.
  • Then score along the 1/2″ border and fold.
  • Use your scissors to cut little “v” shapes about 1/2″ apart along this folded edge.  These will serve as tabs that you can adhere to the bottom edge of the shadow box.  Of course, you will want to decorate the back of the box before you insert this element.
  • Fold a lightweight piece of chipboard into 3 sections. Adhere one piece to the back of the Easter Bonnet girl.  Then adhere the other to the back of the shadow box.  You will have to use trial and error to get the length just right.  But this will prevent the girl from flopping over.
Easter Bunny Hideaway House: A Button Tiled Roof

Any time I can play with my vintage button collection, I’m a happy girl!  I’ve created a “tiled” roof effect. Add a few more inside the box to resemble the shine of Easter Eggs.

Decorate the sides and the back of the box.   You could actually add a 4″ x 6″ photo to the back of the box.

This was such a fun project to make, I just had to share it with you here.  I hope it has served to spark your own creativity.  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Thanks for stopping by!  Wishing you all a warm, wonderful and blessed Easter!

Happy Blooming Birthday Succulents Card

Simple Stories Spring Farmhouse Happy Blooming Birthday Succulents Card

Hello, Friends!  Happy Friday!  Today I have a really fun Simple Stories Spring Farmhouse Happy Blooming Birthday Succulents Card to share with you.

As you can see, I’m still having a blast with these Simple Stories Spring Farmhouse papers!    This 5″ x 7″ top fold card makes good use of all the pretty green tones from the Collector’s Essential Kit.

The succulents are from Little Birdie Crafts.  If you’ve been looking for a place to purchase these lovely flowers, you can now find them in your local AC Moore Crafts store.  (Not available online yet.)  A simple white seam binding bow adds freshness and texture to the card composition.

To soften the bold colors of the succulents, I have dry brushed them with a little ivory chalk paint.  This adds lots of depth and dimension, and it also helps all these different colors harmonize a little better.    For extra texture, I added some Coral See Prills to the edges of the wreath.

Lots of room on the inside to write a little birthday greeting.  Everything about this cheery card makes me happy!  If you’d like to see more examples of cards made from this collection, click HERE.

That’s all for me today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!
