Authentique October Desk Calendar Tutorial: Bibbety Bobbity Boo!
Hello, Friends! My calendar tells me it’s time to get our Authentique October Desk Calendar Tutorial published. So “Bibbety, Bobbity, Boo!” here you go! If you’re new to my blog, this has been a year long series using Authentique Paper’s Calendar Collection. Each month we create a decorative desk calendar that also functions as a memory keeping system. All the calendars measure 6″ x 6″ and feature an easel style design. The interior houses mini folios and a hidden pull out folio. Many of you have told me you are making these as Christmas gifts for family members. Some of you are using the basic folio design with other paper collections and giving the finished product as a birthday present. I think both ideas are fabulous!
The Spooktacular October Calendar Collection
Every month, I say, “This month is my favorite.” That’s how you know this is a great collection, right? But I really do love these “too cute to spook” October patterns, colors and images, don’t you?
I found some adorable owl buttons in my stash. My sweet husband, who is always on the lookout for unique embellishments for me, picked these up for me some time ago. They make the perfect embellishment for the pull out folio.
We change up the design of the pull out folio this month. Add a pocket and some mini folios to create even more room for photos. What do you think?
Then we have these adorable silhouette images. And I found ribbon in my stash that makes me think of candy corn. How fun is that?
So if you’re ready to get going on your October Desk Calendar, please join me in this YouTube video and we’ll create it together.

Wow. Ten months down and just 2 months left to go….and let me tell you…the best is yet to be!
Hello, Friends! I’m popping in quickly this Sunday afternoon to share the Button Farm Club Year in a Box Fall Folios Reveal. If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, and if I am OK then I apologize. Between our prolific tomato plants (we’ve harvested over 500 Roma Tomatoes…so far!). There have been lots of special orders in my Etsy shop, family birthdays and making vats of homemade marinara and salsa happening all at the same time. And I’ve just been too busy/tired to blog much.
But I have a few quiet moments right now to share this month’s Button Farm Club project with you. Who knew when we began this Year in a Box Project back in November of 2019 that 2020 was going to be such a wild ride?
As I was designing these fall folios, I kept thinking to myself, “Well, we’ve saved the best for last!” The October, November and December folios are filled with vintage goodness! Let’s take a closer look, shall we?
October: Too Cute to Spook!
Like all the other folios in this series, the October folio measures 7″ x 7″ x 1/4″. But I changed up the folio design this month to make more room for large photos. The pull out calendar is actually a 6 1/2″ square folio.
No one does Halloween as well as Authentique Paper does. They capture the perfect balance between spooky and fun without being too cutesy or too gruesome.
The fall folios are have a great trifold design with lots of pockets and loads of room for large photos and journaling.
The images and patterns are just spot on!
I think you are really going to love the way these folios function!
November: Grateful Hearts
The November folio is all about having a thankful heart. Here’s a look at the large calendar folio that tucks inside the cuffed pocket sleeve on the folio cover. The tutorial this quarter is loaded with lots of my sneaky tricks for making the most of your papers, working with scraps and there’s even a fussy cutting tutorial thrown in for good measure.
The November papers are perfectly vintage and perfectly beautiful!
December: Festive and Jolly!
The December folios are festive and jolly, just as you would expect them to be.
For me, the big surprise is the color palette. I love the shades of blue that are thrown in to the mix with traditional reds and greens.
You will love recording your December memories in this beautiful folio!
Year in a Box: Bigger and Better!
Several of you that purchased the November 2019 Year in a Box Club Kit contacted me to say that you needed the box to be bigger. So I also worked out a way to add a collar to the box. The tutorial and supplies to fix the box are available to you through the Button Farm Club. Contact Laura at The Button Farm Club for the details. But you’ll be happy to know that the box can hold all 12 folios with room to spare. They can actually stand upright so you can just flip through the folios instead of stacking them on top of one another. It looks really good, too!
I took this photo before the gorgeous primitive gingham ribbon arrived. It is a perfect match for the designer paper on the box and at 2 1/2″ wide, it covers most of the expansion collar.

Hello, Friends! It’s time for me to roll out our Authentique May Desk Calendar Tutorial. Remember”April Showers Bring May Flowers? The April desk calendar was all about rain showers. This May calendar is all about living life in full bloom. How perfect is that?
Each calendar in the series follows the same basic design template. The May folio measures 6″ x 6″ . If you are new to the blog and want to check out the January-April calendar tutorials, click HERE. Hello, Friends! This Celtic beauty adorns the cover of our Authentique March Desk Calendar. That’s right! With Valentine’s Day behind us, it’s time to get ready for the wearing of the green. So break out your March Calendar collection pages and let’s get our craft on!
Did you make the January and February Desk Calendars yet? The March calendar is the same size and basic design, although I streamlined a couple of features to make it even easier to create.
Just like the January and February models, the base is a 6″ x 6″ easel card. I dressed this one up with some fancy gold buttons, shimmer satin ribbon and beautiful Little Birdie Amor Mio flowers.
You’ll still find a cute pocket with folio inserts and a March calendar on the interior of the card. But the pocket construction is even simpler.
And we still have the nifty hidden pocket and folio feature. But I changed the shape of the pull tab. I can’t have you getting bored on me!
So if you’re ready to learn how to make this sweet Authentique March Desk Calendar, just click play on the video below. You’ll also find a linked supply list at the bottom of this post.
The great thing about this fun design is that it makes a great gift! Just change out the papers, and you can make birthday cards, anniversary cards, graduation cards…the options are endless!
Are you making this series along with me? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comment section below.
